The Official Project Clooney '09 Website
Project Clooney was a large scale attempt to bring a little fun, a little joy into what every year 12 student dreads even more than end of year exams...the GAT.
It all began at approximately 11:14pm on June 5th, 2009 when a year 12 student,
Lucas Shipsides posted this on a facebook event for the 2009 GAT:
"GUYS I THINK WE NEED A COORDINATED EFFORT HERE
i think we should all mention George Clooney in at least one of our written responses.
imagine what the fuck VCAA will be thinking when thousands of people include irrelevant references to George Clooney when talking about diamonds or chocolate or whatever the fuck they're putting on this years GAT.
who's with me?"
Well after that was posted, Project Clooney spread faster than Swine Flu, every year 12 kid in Victoria was posting updates all over Facebook and telling their friends. In under a week, the group gained around 7,000 members and has spawned several spin-off groups, each with several hundred members of their own.
The project was hailed a success by all participants, and thus history was made. The 2009 GAT will always be(e) remembered in the hearts of those who took part, the supervisors on the day, and VCAA.
